Leaving Paris and heading back to New York

Today, we didn’t have to get up early. The little Carrefour market near our Holiday Inn opened at 8:30 this morning. It was closed yesterday due to New Year’s day. Mr. Adventurer went and bought breakfast and lunch for at the airport. We were heading home today. It’s an eight hour long plane ride. Before we left the hotel, we went to the rooftop to take last few views of Paris. It’s raining when we left the Holiday Inn. We … Continue reading >>

Notre Dame, Luxor Obelisk, Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, Les Invalides, La Madeleine, Place Vendôme, and The Louvre

After eating French pastries as breakfast, we were ready to go out for another day of sightseeing. We walked to Notre Dame Big Bus stop which was 5 minutes away. We took some pictures and hopped on the red line Big Bus. We were the only tourists again around 10 am and since the day was so cold with light snow the bus wasn’t even “open top”. We rode the bus and had some good sightseeings. The Arc de Triomphe didn’t … Continue reading >>

The Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Institut de France, Musée d’Orsay, Assemblee Nationale, Alexandre III bridge, Opera House, Holiday Inn, and Léon

We attempted to get up at 8 am and catch the first classic red Big Bus for sightseeing. We checked out of Hotel Du Louvre and stored our luggage with them for free. We were ready for a day of sightseeing. We walked around Louvre to the bus stop. It was cold and not many people were out and about. The bus came and it was empty. We were the only tourists on the bus for the most part. I … Continue reading >>

British Museum, Eurostar to Paris, Hotel Du Louvre, and Le Thermidor

We had our last free English breakfast in our hotel. I tried Cafe Au Lait first. It’s half milk and half coffee coming out together in two different pipes. Then I tried Chocolatte. The machine had milk and chocolate alternating from the same pipe. Sugar was pre-added. I had tried five different drinks in three mornings. That’s the most variety I had in any hotel. The weather was so nice that we had beautiful sunshine and blue skies for the past two … Continue reading >>

I had been sick for several days and wasn’t able to get good sleeps. This morning, we had to get up at 4 am to catch the American Eagle airplane at 6:45 am. I was tired and sleepy but excited for our new adventures. We left our car at local airport parking lot and boarded the airport shuttle to our terminal. We arrived at New York LaGuardia airport at 7:45 am. Our next flight is at JFK airport but not until 6:45 … Continue reading >>

Europe Trip and Terrorist Attacks

We are planning on a nice Europe trip down the road, but terrorists attacked Paris, France this past weekend, one of our destinations for the trip. So what should we do? Cancel that plan and visit somewhere else? Or still visit Europe? We have been wanting to see Europe for a long time, but safety is a concern now besides stuff getting stolen. If we don’t visit Europe, where else should we go? Machu Picchu in Peru? Hawaii? … Continue reading >>

England, France, and Morocco Itinerary and Prep

We want to visit many countries in Europe and Morocco in Africa, but due to time constraints, we can only visit these three countries this time. We’ll take our trip during a Winter Break. Passports must be valid for a minimum of six months at entering into France and Morocco. Adventurer Jr. III’s passport expires in Feb. 2018, so we’ll go at least 6 months before that to save on passport renewal fee. That leaves us December of 2016 time frame. … Continue reading >>

France Trip Prep

Passports must be valid for a minimum of six months at entry. We can stay for up to 90 days without visas. Also don’t leave any tip while in France because it’s included in the food price. It’s best that I learn some French. I’d like to see France as much as possible. So I’ll give it 5 days as well. Many of the attractions were close to one another, so careful planning is a must. Here’s a reasonable way … Continue reading >>

Europe Trip Prep

We’ll visit Europe some time in the future, I want to start planning for it now. The countries that we are most interested in are as follows: Europe: England – 5 days France – 5 days Italy Belgium Netherlands Spain Turkey Swiss (Switzerland) Monaco Germany Denmark Finland Norway Sweden North Africa: Morocco – 4 days. Since it only takes 3 hours of flying from Paris, France to Marrakesh (Marrakech), Morocco, and the airfare is about €120 round trip per person, Mr. Adventurer thinks that … Continue reading >>
