Latin Week Four

We actually mastered seven phrases this past week. The extra phrase we learned was “in perpetuum“, which means “forever”. Since we did so well, I’ve decided that we’ll increase the phrases to learn for this week. Here’s the list of nine Latin phrases for this week:

  • de iure – from law, legal
  • de facto – from the act
  • a priori – from what is know
  • magnum opus – great work
  • pinxit – he/she painted it
  • per se – in itself
  • in memoriam – in memory of
  • in situ – in place
  • pro rata – in proportion

At the end of this week, we’ll review all phrases that we’ve learned so far since week one.
