2016 – 2017 MathCounts Review

Adventurer Jr. II was on Varsity team again this year for MathCounts. He won the first place individual, second place countdown, and second place team at regional/chapter competition on first Saturday of February. He received three trophies and $20 cash for the first place individual. He represented his school and went to State MathCounts competition on the second Saturday in March to compete against 33 of the State’s best teams. 2015 – 2016 MathCounts Review

Adventurer Jr. II got second place for written exams (Sprint and Target rounds), third place for oral count down round in chapter’s MathCounts competition out of 100+ contestants. His team got second place out of fourteen teams. He took three trophies home. That’s a huge achievement since this was his first time competing in MathCounts. MATHCOUNTS Regional Competition

Adventurer Jr. left home early this morning to compete at the regional MATHCOUNTS Competition. He ranked seventh on the Sprint round and eighth overall. But he isn’t going to the state competition because he is on Junior Varsity.  The lesson here is that no matter how good you are, if you are not on the Varsity team you are going nowhere. But I’m still very proud of him of getting such good rankings today.
